Before we dive into how to get B2B inquiries effectively, let’s first understand what B2B is. B2B, short for Business To Business, refers to the purchasing relationship formed through the exchange of products, services, and information between enterprises via the Internet. It differs from B2C (Business To Customers), which is a business marketing model targeting end consumers, representing a consumption relationship between enterprises and individuals where enterprises sell products to consumers. Many companies use B2B to promote their brand awareness and obtain valuable inquiries. So, how can we achieve good results and get B2B inquiries effectively? Here are some tips.

Tips for Getting B2B Inquiries

1. Platform Selection

  • More Platforms for More Time: If you have enough time and enthusiasm, the more platforms you register on, the better.
  • Adequate Number: If you don’t want to register too many, aim for 20 – 30 platforms at least. Choose comprehensive B2B platforms with high rankings and professional websites in your industry. You can search on Google, Yahoo or Baidu to find the platforms you need to log in.

2. Registration

  • Avoid Shortcuts: Many people like to use abbreviations of their company or personal names when registering. This isn’t a good habit.
  • Use Product Names: Since websites usually give members a second-level domain name, registering with the name of your company’s main product can create a second-level domain name containing keywords, which is helpful for search results.

3. Website Information Submission

  • Be Thorough: Submit company information as completely as possible, including address, phone number, website, email, contact person, etc.
  • Avoid Incompleteness: Some people only register the company name and leave the rest blank, which gives an impression of being unprofessional and unreliable. Even for free registration, keep it simple but not sloppy.

4. Utilization of Website Functions

  • Learn from Others: Before uploading products, check the websites of several registered members on the platform to understand its functions and use them effectively.
  • Avoid Wasted Time: This way, you won’t have to go back and make modifications later because you missed something initially.

5. Product Upload

  • Classify and Detail: Classify products reasonably and provide detailed introductions for each one, including name, function, specifications, code, etc. This shows your professionalism and helps customers remember your products better.
  • Use Keywords: Include appropriate keywords in product descriptions. Don’t miss the chance to add hyperlinks if possible. If many others have already paid to upload a certain product, consider uploading products that are less registered by others but your factory produces to gain more exposure.

6. Product Pictures

  • Make Them Attractive: Product pictures are eye-catching elements. They should be clear and beautiful so that customers will be impressed. You can learn from some domestic companies whose product pictures are so appealing that people want to buy their products immediately.
  • Add Watermarks: Consider adding your company’s website as a watermark on the pictures if possible. It’s also useful to have some basic knowledge of photo editing software like Photoshop.

7. Website Management

  • Regular Updates: Newly registered websites often have good results in the first half year, but the effect may decline over time. So, it’s necessary to keep updating.
  • Update Frequency: It’s recommended to REPOST every 1 – 2 weeks and EDIT PRODUCTS & TRADE LEADS once a month.

8. Email

  • Check Inquiries: Some B2B platforms will forward customer inquiries to your registered email, while others won’t. Send an inquiry to yourself to check the situation. If the platform doesn’t forward, log in regularly to check for inquiries.

9. Final Check

  • Error Correction: After completing all the registration and uploading work, conduct a comprehensive check for any small errors and correct them in time.

10. Keep a Good Attitude

  • Positive Mindset: If you get inquiries, work harder to get more. If not, maintain a good attitude, analyze the reasons for the low inquiry rate, and look for better methods or channels.

Effectively getting B2B inquiries requires attention to details in multiple aspects, from platform selection to maintaining a good attitude. By following these tips, you can increase your chances of receiving valuable B2B inquiries and promoting your business better in the B2B market.
